*Tanzania 2-1 Uganda
Uganda U17 Girls National team suffered a 2-1 defeat to Tanzania in the first leg of the second round of the 2020 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers.
Fauziah Najjemba gave Uganda an early lead in the 5th minute but the hosts pushed before a late winner with three minutes on time.
Aisha Masaka were on target for Tanzania in the 28th and 87th minute to mark a comeback.

“We have lost the game. I won’t say that we played badly but the girls made some few mistakes and we conceded,” said Coach Ayub Khalifa.
“We have to go back to the drawing board and am assuring Ugandans that in the return leg we have to get the goals we want and we go to the next level.”
Uganda eliminated Ethiopia in the first round after a 5-1 aggregate win and will be hoping to overturn the deficit in the return leg in Kampala.

If Uganda negotiate past this tie after two legs, they will face the winner between Cameroon and Sao Tome and Principe for a slot at the World Cup finals in India later this year.
