Vipers will be without striker Tito Okello when they play host to Maroons in the StarTimesUPL on Wednesday at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.
Tito, former KCCA, BUL FC, Africa Lyon and Mbeya City FC player was stretchered off after an head injury ealier in the first of Vipers’ goalless draw with KCCA recently.
He has scored three league goals for Vipers this season.
One of Allan Kayiwa or Paul Mucureezi is expected to fill the void left behind by Tito on as coach Fred Kajoba looks for who will partner Fahad Bayo upfront.
Out of favour Dan Sserunkuma or Umar Kyebatala are the other available options.
According to the club website, Bobosi Byaruhanga and Frank ‘Zaga’ Tuwesigye are set for returns while captain Halid Lwaliwa remains out.
The first meeting between the sides ended in a draw but Vipers were handed boardroom three points after it was proved that Maroons had used an ineligible player – Hannington Ssebwalunyo who had accumulated three yellow cards.
The Venoms are atop of the 16-team table with 50 points, four above KCCA FC who sit second place.
Maroons, 13th with 24 points come into the game on the back of a five-game winless run in the league.
Maroons will be without striker Steven Mukwala who is ineligible to face parent club.
