Nalukenge Among Winners As Real Stars Sports Awards Return

Young female footballer Juliet Nalukenge, captain of the Uganda Women U17 team, has marked the start of 2020 with a Forte Bet Real Stars Sports Accolade.

Nalukenge who plies her trade with Kawempe Muslims, beat URA FC duo Rwothomio Cromwell and Said Kyeyune to footballer of January.

Nalukenge netted in both ties against Ethiopia including a brace on away to help Uganda progress to next level of the U17 Women World cup Qualifiers.

She also scored against Tanzania in U20 Women World cup Qualifiers.

Isaac Masembe was named the Boxer of the month of January. He defeated David Ssemuju and Doreen Nassali.

Scott Olouch of Heathens edged teammate Oyet Joseph and David Ssemwami for Rugby player of the month January.

Sam Simbwa (URA FC) was named the best coach, beating Ayabu Khalifa of U17 Women team and Bright Stars Paul Kiwanuka.

The Real Sports agency executive director Isaac Mukasa said they intend to make the initiative monthly.

“I have been receiving calls that our project has died, now all questions have been answered, we last awarded on 4th November for October and now we have returned with Forte Bet as our new sponsor joining Jude Colour solutions who has been with us since our inaugural edition. It is now seven times they have been there for us at every occasion.”

Assistant media manager Agaba Obed commented that they are ready to walk the journey with Real Stars as they strive to develop sports in the country.

Aspiring Lord Mayor and Current Kawempe North Member of Parliament Latif Ssebagala commended Fortebet and Real Stars for motivating sportsmen.
