The game of woodball arrived in Uganda in 2006 and since then the game has been developing continuously.

Delegates from 41 clubs have all agreed to approve fellow members.
Proway wood ball club, Eminate, Victoria University and Kiryandongo are the approved clubs and all of them have been participating in different Woodball Activities.
As the Uganda Woodball Federation president who is also the Africa Woodball federation president and also World Woodball federation Vice President Paul Mark Kayongo continues to help the growth of the game in Uganda.
In the same Annual general assembly, attempting to join Uganda Secondary Schools sports association games was another hot discussion on the floor and it is expected to be another key avenue towards Wood ball development.
The administrative assistant secretary of National council of sports David Katende Ssemakula while speaking at the assembly, challenged sports body not to keep waiting for only government support.
While presenting their 2019 financial report, Wood ball federation financial report confirmed 60% of their expenditure came from government support.
“For those who accusing the government of not funding sports in the country, If it was like that, most of the sports bodies would have been collapsed, Federations must find ways of making their own money.
“Federations must raise their own funds before waiting for government support.”
Katende also advised federation members to play a key roll in strengthening federations financial status.
“If federations have to be at their own, its you the members to be the stepping stone by paying subscriptions in time and fulfilling all your responsibility in budgeted time.”
