Wakiso Giants and Bright Stars played a 1-1 draw in a StarTimes UPL game at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium, Wakissha.

Andrew Kyambadde second half own goal denied Bright Stars maximum points who had taken an halftime lead through James Angu’s strike.

Angu broke the deadlock when he firing in after a well delivered pass from Ronald Ssempala in the box in the 43rd minute.

Nine minutes into the second stanza, Gaddafi Wahab’s free kick was deflected in by Kyambadde (og) for the hosts’ equaliser.

Wakiso’s Hassan Ssenyonjo had his shot blocked by Enock Walusimbi while Geoffrey Sserunkuma hit the post as the hosts looked for a perfect start.

Bright Star’s goalkeeper Godwin Buule denied Wahab and Sserunkuma to keep the score level inside the opening minutes.

Alex Komakech could have won it late for Wakiso Giants when he received a low pass from Yasin Mugume but his shot went over the bar.

Bright Stars’ best chance saw Joseph Janjali miss a tap in from Andrew Kaggwa’s cross while Ronald Ssempala’s effort was cleared away by Derrick Emukule.
