Tony Odur: Former Express FC Striker Joins Katwe United

Former Express FC Striker Tony Odur has joined FUFA Big League side Katwe United, the club has confirmed.

Odur was one of the long list of players that were released by Express FC last season and takes with him heavy experience to the struggling Big league side.

He has previously played for Vipers, KCCA FC, Nkana (Zambia) and Brabrand (Denmark) among other clubs.

Odur joins former Express FC teammate Billy Nkata at the club coached by Allan Kabonge.

Odur is the other marquee signing at Katwe in the January transfer window after the club added former KCCA FC captain Habib Kavuma.

The side earlier confirmed release of nine players that include Richard Kigozi, Joel Male, Joshua Kariisa, Denis Ojera, Ronald Sseku, Kenneth Mudira among others.

Katwe’s second choice goalkeeper Ali Mwerusi also joined KCCA FC.

Katwe were eliminated from Uganda Cup by top flight side Proline FC in the 2020 Uganda Cup and will put their main focus to the Big League.

The ‘TuliBanyivu’ team, bankrolled by MP Allan Ssewanyana, ended the first round at the rock bottom (9th) of Elgon Group with five points after eight games.

Odur will seek to help Katwe achieve promotion to the top flight side, together with other players on the team like Alex Katumba, Allan Tebusweke, Reagan Mukwaya among others.
