Joseph Ikong Ends 13-Year Tenure At Betway Power

Silverbacks small forward Joseph Ikong has confirmed that he will not be wearing the Betway Power jersey again.

Ikong has left the Power, a club he joined 13 years ago. He started his basketball career with Makerere Youth Heaters in 2005.

He leaves the club after winning three league championships.

“I am certain for sure that I will not be wearing the Power Jersey again,” Ikong said. “It’s the end of the road for me.”

“Am just finding new goals and new ambitions. It’s just time to move on.”

Ikong has been linked to a lucrative move to City Oilers for the past three seasons and it remains to be seen whether he will be crossing to the other side.

IK, as commonly known in the basketball circles, is a graduate of Makerere University with a bachelors in Information Technology.

JKL Release Eight Players

Did You Know – Ikong represented Uganda in football for the U-12 team in 1997.
