Elite Schools Championship: Kitende To Face Standard High Zzana in Semis

There is high anticipation as St Mary’s Kitende prepare to face Standard High Zana in what will be an Entebbe road derby.

This is one of the semifinal clash at the ongoing Elite Schools championship at Old Kampala.

Defending Champions Kitende reached this stage with five wins from as many games.

Kitende topped group A with 15 points while Standard High Zana came second in group B with 10 points, losing top spot to Royal Giants Mityana on goal difference.

Kitende beat Buddo SS 4-0 last year with a brace from Richard Basangwa as Najib Yiga and Ojera Derrick to take the inaugural edition.

Royal and St Henry Kitovu will battle out in the other semi.

Royal Giants reached Semis as group B leader with 10 points in 4 games and St Henry Kitovu finished second to St Mary’s Kitende with 9 points.

Both Semi finals shall be held at Old Kampala at the same time and they will be followed by Third place Match at Mid Day and then final at 2:00pm on Thursday as the Commissioner for Sport Omar Apita is expected to grace the event.

Kitende games – Jinja SS (3-0), Dynamic SS (4-2), Old Kampala (2-0), St Henry (3-1) and St John (2-0).

Emanuel Jowanga leads the log with three goals followed by Najib Yiga and Charles Lwanga both on two.

Standand High Zana games – Uganda Martyrs (2-0), Royal Giants (1-1), Kawempe Muslim (2-1), Boston SS (2-0).
