World Cricket Challenge League: Uganda Cricket Cranes Flourish In Oman

Uganda Cricket Cranes won the first round of the World Cricket Challenge league group B held in Oman.

On Wednesday, Uganda beat Hong Kong by six wickets to seal their fifth win from as many and end first leg of the World Cricket Challenge League atop.

Bilal Hassun picked three wickets, Henry Ssenyondo and Richard Agamire picked two each to limit Hong Kong to 147.

After a frustrating start from the top order that saw Shahzad Kamal, Ronak Patel, Kenneth Waiswa and Roger Mukasa falling inside the first 14 overs, Arnold Otwani and Dinesh Nakrani propelled the team forward.

Otwani, leading the side due to the absence of sick Brian Masaba, hit 66 runs off 112 balls while Nakrani (57) scored a quick half ton to chase down the total.

The second round will be played in Uganda in 2020 before the third at a place yet to be known in 2021. The winner after three legs will progress to the next round of qualification.
