*UCU Lady Canons 69-58 JKL Lady Dolphins
Zainah Lokwameri inspired UCU Lady Canons to a 69-58 victory against defending champions JKL Lady Dolphins in game four and level the best of seven series 2-2.
The forward who was sidelined in game three and came off the bench on Wednesday, weighed in with a game high 15 points and filled the stat sheet with five rebounds and as many assists.
Sarah Ageno picked a double double of 12 points and 17 rebounds while Rose Akon added 14 points in the victory.
Stella Oyella and Hope Akello were the only JKL players to reach double figures; scoring 15 and 10 points in that order.
Game five will be played on Friday.
Ruth Noela Letaru scored nine points in the first half, Zainah had eight and Rhoda managed seven as Lady Canons shot 10-of-21 to take a 38-28 at the long break in a half JKL missed 12 of the 16 attempts from the three point range and were never sent on the free-throw line the entire first half.
Stella Oyella scored both of her free-throws to reduce the deficit to five points with 04:51 remaining in the third quarter but UCU managed to hold on their lead before finishing business in the last frame which they won 17-13.
Overall, UCU out rebounded JKL 48-42 despite making 21 turnovers against JKL’s 16. Nicholas Natuhereza’s side shot 42% from the field and managed to keep former player Ritah Imanishimwe scoreless in the first two quarters.
