Paul Mucureezi: Midfielder Set For Mbarara Exit

Attacking midfielder Paul Mucureezi is set to leave Mbarara City FC as his contract is set to expire in December, this year.

Mucureezi is believed to have played his last game when Mbarara City FC beat KCCA FC 2-1 on Tuesday in Kakyeka.

The player has hinted on return to KCCA and revealed that he is open for talks.

Wakiso Giants and Police FC are the other contenders reportedly chasing Mucureezi’s signature.

“I am ready for any negotiations if called upon,” Mucureezi told the-SportsNation.com. “However, I have not received any offers yet.”

“KCCA is a big team, they have played at the continental level and if negotiation’s go well, I am ready to work for them again.”

Mucureezi helped KCCA win two league titles before falling out with coach Mike Mutebi.

Mucu, as known by friends, has helped the Ankole Lions end their first round in ninth with 19 points after beating KCCA.

Speaking about the victory, he added:

“It means good winning such a game though. We have to thank God for the good result. KCCA FC is a big team but managed to use our home advantage well, we played better than them and it was our day.”

He added:

“It has not been an easy time for us (Mbarara City FC) with alternating coaches but as a player you have to stay focused.

“It’s a great feeling because not many people have managed to beat KCCA.”
