Uganda players pose for a photo during the conclusion of the FIBA 3X3 Africa Cup
Team Uganda put up commendable performances at the concluded 2019 FIBA 3X3 Africa Cup held in the country at Hockey grounds, Lugogo.
Mali won the U18 girls championship while Egypt won the remaining three titles – Boys U18, Senior men and women.
Uganda’s U18 girls won silver, U18 boys and Gazelles (senior women team) clinched bronze each while the Silverbacks managed to finish fifth.

This was the third edition and the the first of three that being hosted in Kampala. The first two editions were held in Lome, Togo.
The Gazelles – Brenda Ekone, Rita Imanishimwe, Zainah Lokwameri and Sarah Ageno – lost their semifinal game to eventual winners Egypt but managed to come big against Nigeria in a bronze match.
Egypt women finished the whole tourney while playing with three players – Soraya Mohamed, Nouralla Abdelalim and Hala Elshaarawy.
This is the first time that Egypt has taken part in the FIBA 3X3 Africa Cup. And the U18 edition is the first to be held.
The number one seeded team in Africa had finished third and fifth in 2017 and 2018 editions respectively.
The Silverbacks lost their quarter final 18-9 against Mali.
