The Kinyara Golf Open returns bigger and better.
The organisers of the annual event anticipates a huge turn up of about 150 golfers from different parts of the country to take part in the 23rd edition.
The tourney will be held on October 18-19 in Masindi districts.
Professionals and gross players will play for two days while amateurs playing off handicap 6 and above shall play for one day on Saturday.
Notably, the prize money has been increased from Sh10M to 12M and a grand prize winning dinner will climax the much anticipated tournament.
“We pride ourselves in developing Sports and we want to ensure that sport is recognised, we thank Kinyara for allowing us to be part of this. At UAP we want to promote talent and we therefore encourage everyone to participate,” noted Caroline Tayebwa of UAP.
Kinyara Sugar Limited, UAP Old Mutual Insurance Uganda, Liaison Group, ICEA Group and Jubilee Insurance are the tourney’s sponsors
Grace Kasango won the coveted trophy last year while Ronald Bukenya was the winner in the professional category.
As it was the case last year, there will be a famous hole-in-one on hole number seven, with the winner clinching with Shs1.8m.
