Uganda Cranes defender Timothy Denis Awany opened his account for Israel club Ashdod FC with a goal as the side drew 2-2 against Hapoel Beer Sheva.
The former KCCA FC captain put the hosts in the lead just inside the second minute of the game.
Shlomi Azulay scored the other goal for Ashdod, Nigel Hasselbaink and former Chelsea player Ben Sahar were on target for visiting Beer Sheva.
This was Awany’s sixth game for his club, including two domestic (Toto) cup games.
He will be expected to reprise his role at centre back when they face Hapoel Ra’anana on the road this Sunday.
