Busoga Forestry Limited has joined Connect to Africa (official partners) to sponsor this year’s East Africa junior Rugby Sevens to be hosted by Jinja Hippos at Dam waters, Jinja on 31st August to 1st September.
The annual event brings together girls and boys across the region with teams from Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi and Uganda, competing at Under15 and Under 18 age level.
The sponsorship is to enable organisers providing good meals to participants, facilitating more match officials and Medical staffs and also to prepare the pitch to make sure that its in top condition for the event.
“The partnership with Busoga Forestry Limited has been growing and we are really happy that they have come on board,” said Saidi Atibu head coach Jinja hipppos.
“And the great thing is that the support won’t stop at the tournament. Together we will be able to take Rugby to more school in and around Jinja and help grow the sport in the area which we hope will help our senior side.”
On behalf of Busoga Forestry Limited, the Deputy Managing Director, Mr Imran Nakveira said they are delighted as a company to be Involved as they see parallels between their business and grassroot rugby.
“After all, you don’t get healthy sustainable forests and first class strong timber without first naturing the young trees. Its the same in rugby, excellence at the finish comes from support at the beginning,” noted Imran.
