Goalkeeper Ali Kimera is among the 14 players that have been unveiled at Busoga United, formerly known as Kirinya Jinja SS.
The ‘controversial’ goalkeeper was suspended by Mbarara City FC after they accused him of match fixing following dramatic events in a league game against SC Villa.
Kimera snubs SC Villa where he was training from, to join the Jinja based team that will host league games at Njeru Technical centre.
Ivan Wani (Maroons), Shafic Kakeeto (Express FC), Hakim Magombe (BUL FC) are some of the other stars that have been acquired in the transfer window.
Notably, the club has lost four players – Godfrey Akol (BUL), Sanon Mulabi (BUL FC), Faisal Muwawu (SC Villa) and Fred Anaku (Maroons).
Abbey Bogere Kikomeko’s side finished ninth with 41 points last season and will be hoping for a better performance this season.
They will open up proceedings against Tooro United on the road before back to back home games against KCCA FC and Bright Stars.
