Uganda’s Middle-distance runner, Ronald Musagala won another gold medal in 1500m on Saturday night in IAAF Diamond league in Paris France.
Musagala with a strong final kick finish, matched his national Record of 3:30.58 he had set in Monaco last month to win a deep, competitive race.
The victory makes two straight win for a 26 year old after he won in Birmingham last week.
The time clocked was also his personal best.
Musagala who was in fourth position in last 50m of the final lap, came hard from lane 3 in last 15m to snatch a win away from Djibouti’s Ayanleh Souleiman who had the lead. No wonder he only beat him with just 8 micro seconds.

Other Ugandan athletes who were in action at Stade Sébastien Charléty, Paris in the same league, Included Winnie Nanyondo who finished third in 800m (1:58.83) behind Hanna Green (1:58.39) of USA and Jamaica’s Natoya Goule (1:58.59).
There was also Albert Chemutai who finished 14th in 3000m steeplechase which won by Mauritius Soufiane EL Bakkali.
It should be noted that Musagala, Nanyondo and Chemutai are among the Ugandan top athletes who decided to miss the ongoing African games in Morroco to compete in IAAF Diamond leagues for money and as preparations for World Athletics Championship starting on September 27th,2019 in Doha Qatar.
The next stop in IAAF diamond league before world Athletics Championship include; Zurich on August 29th and Brussels Switzerland on September 6th.
