KCCA FC head coach Mike Mutebi has said his side is not worried despite losing the first leg of CAF champions league qualifier.

The KCCA FC gaffer has claimed that his side has enough armoury to overturn results.

KCCA FC is playing African Stars FC of Namibia in the return leg of CAF Champions league Preliminaries on Friday at Star Times Stadium Lugogo.

KCCA FC lost 2-3 in first leg encounter in Namibia.

“We are not worried, we are going to play our way. We have more experience on the continent than them,” Mutebi said during the pre-match press conference at lugogo earlier on Thursday.

“We have ever played Mamelod Sundowns and South African clubs play the same way. My boys believe in themselves which gives me confidence. Also, the gap between the so called big teams and underdogs have narrowed.

“If KCCA FC fails to qualify to group stages, it will be a total failure because the club has now set standards, we have to play with the likes of TP Mazembe FC, Al Ahly and Al-Hilal.”

About his key players who have left the clubs for professional carrier, Mutebi said the club has 28 players who are capable of playing though he admitted that they will miss the experience of some players on the continent especially Timothy Awanyi and Kaddu Patrick.

“The team has 28 players, when we won CECAFA recently those players were not there. Yes, we are going to miss the experience of some but we still have the good young stars like Sadat Anaku who can play good football.”

He is also hoping to rely on the services of Herbert Achai and Gift Ali who have recovered from injuries.

He explained that his new signings – John Levita and Simon Serunkuuma – will miss out but will be legible to play the next round if his side happen to go through.

If KCCA FC wins on aggregate, they will have to face the winner between Matlama and Luanda in double header before reaching the lucrative group stages .
