Super Eight: Onduparaka FC Optimistic Ahead Of Mbarara Encounter

Onduparaka FC’s assistant coach Sadiq Sempigi believes that his side is set and prepared to face Mbarara City FC in FUFA pilsner super Eight Classfication game on Tuesday at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium, Wakiso.

The two teams will be playing to determine who finishes 3rd and 4th having lost their semi finals. Onduparaka lost 3-1 to KCCA FC while Mbarara City lost to Vipers SC 5-3 in penalties.

Before, Onduparaka had beaten Tooro united 4-3 in shoot-out to book a slot in semis while Mbarara had eliminated URA FC.

“Our team is so set, the last game we lost pushed us to do correction so that we come prepared in this game and we are optimistic to have good results tomorrow,” said Sempigi during the press briefing at Kati Kati in Lugogo ahead of Tuesday’s encounter.

“We are playing a team which is new to us with new coach, management and been well organized in the transfer market, so we expect a big threat.

“Its very hard to play Mbarara City than playing KCCA. Their style of play is new to us and Mbarara City players are so motivated to play against their former coach.”

Onduparaka will still miss the services of Ezra Bida who is still with the family after his brother’s death, but they will have youngster Idi Abdulwahid, a former U17 national player who will be making his debut on a team for a competitive game.

Both teams have so far met four times, each winning one and drawing two.

The winner will walk away with Sh10m and Sh8m for a loser courtesy of Pilsner Eight.
