The Uganda Premier League board has promised a wrangle free 2019/20 UPL season.
While speaking to the press during the release of UPL fixture for the coming season at Namboole on Wednesday, UPL CEO Bernard Bainamani said scandals affects the branding of the league which they are fighting for.
“When I talk of a scandal free league, I mean no match mixing, bribery, hooliganism, aborting matches and players non payment issues because such sandals affect the branding,”Bainamani noted.
“We don’t expect to achieve this alone, we want maximum cooperation from all the stakeholders as we aim for one goal. We are continuing to work closely with FUFA and other stakeholders so as we take this league to the next level.”
The board also pledged to double its effort in search for more league sponsors.

Bainamani also added that they will continue to manage the league without biasness but fairness and equity.
However, he commented that there have been adjustments made when drafting the fixture to provide room for KCCA FC and Proline FC who will be the country’s representatives on the continent.
Fufa also pledged to double its effort in search for Sponsorship.
Bainamani urged Clubs that have not been able to start the league at their preferred home grounds to work harder to meet club licencing requirements so that they return to their grounds because home fan base is key.
The UPL 2019/20 season kick start on Thursday 29th, August 2019, with Villa SC playing newly promoted Kyetuma FC at Mandela National stadium in a night game.
