Fight: Patricia Apolot Vs Joyce Awino
Date: August 31, 2019
Venue: Smiles Corner, Kireka
Uganda’s female kick boxer Patricia Apolot has expressed her readiness for the upcoming rematch against Kenya’s Joyce ‘Jungle Lady’ Awino.
Black Pearl, as Apolot is known by many, beat Awino in the first round in the first fight that was held in Soroti.
The Kenyan asked for a rematch which was consequently granted by Apolot, and the Ugandan has agreed to do everything in her own means to beat Awino again.
“I will not promise much but am sure of wining,” said Apolot in a press briefing held on Tuesday. “Am more than ready, I dont do comedy in the ring. The ring doesn’t know you, you have to introduce yourself to the ring.”
“I will not underrate Awino, she is a good fighter but I have had enough preparations and as you can see a good training team.”
The fight on August 31, will go underway at Smiles corner in Kireka with about ten undercards expected.
It should be noted that the black pearl has lost just once, and that came in amateur fights. She has never lost a professional fight. She has 12 knockouts from 21 duels.
The fight that has been sanctioned by the World Kick boxing federation and the local body in the country (UKF), will be played under low kick style not k1 as earlier communicated.
