NBL: Soro and Ameny’s Suspensions Blessing In Disguise For Sivachi, Libe

Brian Sivachi and Libe Makala are capitalising on the absence of teammates Geoffrey Soro and Philip Ameny to prove a point.

Soro and Ameny are serving 25 and 10 game-bans respectively.

The suspended duo has missed two of the last club’s games, and their absence has allowed other stars to step up in their place.

Next in line has been Sivachi and Libe Makala who have been influential as Power beat Falcons and Ndejje University Angels in that order.

On Wednesday, Power needed Sivachi and Libe’s heroics to overcome a resolute Ndejje University in a 84-75 laboured victory.

“It was a good game, we had to get this win because we were on a poor run and had to put ourselves in a better position in the standings” Sivachi said after the game.

“We had to step up, as you know two of the starters are on suspension. It’s not like an opportunity but when u are called up on, you have to step up.”

Sivachi shot 8 of 13 from the field to lead the way with 18 points, he added 9 rebounds from his 22 minutes on court.

On how he has to improve more, Sivachi added:
Mostly on the blocks, post moves and the shots have to be better, I have to improve on the efficiency generally.”

Libe and Syrus Kiviiri scored 15 points each. Amini Mkosa also contributed 10 points.
