CHAN: Nothing But Victory – Mujuzi Assures Ugandans

Uganda Cranes CHAN team new captain Mustafa Mujuzi has guaranteed a win for Uganda against Somalia in the second leg of CHAN qualifiers.

Uganda, with a comfortable 3-1 lead, host Somalia at Startimes stadium, Lugogo.

While speaking after the team’s last training session on Friday, Mujuzi said his side is ready to execute their plan for a win and ready to please fans in any way possible.

“We are ready to win tomorrow’s game nothing else, we are already to put into practice all tactics that have been given by managers and technical team,” said Mujuzi.

“We have had enough preparations and have no excuse for failing. My teammates are in good shape and ready to conquer.”

The left back is to captain the team for the first time after the departure of Timothy Awany who has been commanding the team. Assistant captain Taddeo Lwanga is also out.

Without Awany, Mujuzi is expected to partner John Revita at the heart of defence.

Goals from Lwanga, Patrick Kaddu and Mustafa Mujuzi gave the Cranes a deserved win.

Uganda, if they manage to negotiate past Somalia, will face winner between South Sudan and Burundi to keep its 5th consecutive CHAN campaign hopes alive.
