With Football governing body in the country (FUFA) yet to make a formal communication, this website has learnt that five UPL clubs have failed to meet the club licensing requirements to take part in the 2019/20 league season.
Record league winners SC Villa, newly promoted Kyetume FC, Busoga United who changed name from Kirinya Jinja, Police FC who are yet to confirm a home ground and West Nile based side Onduparaka are the five clubs.
The-SportsNation sources have confirmed that the FUFA Licencing board will be sitting on Tuesday to evaluate the documents of the other 11 inspected clubs.
The Licensing board is expected to fine the other five clubs as it was the case last season when Mbarara City, Nyamityobora and Paidha BA where stripped off the rights to host their games at home.
In an earlier communication from the board, club licencing program started very early this year on February 19, with education and sensitisation seminars with the deadline on June 21st. Then, SC Villa, Police FC, Kyetume FC, Onduparaka FC and Tooro United FC had only submitted 10% while Vipers SC had not submitted any requirement but the latter has passed the test as we speak.
