Mbarara City FC has requested FUFA competitions department to reschedule their match against URA FC in forth coming 2nd edition of the FUFA pilsner Super 8 tournament due on Sunday, 27th July 2019.
According to the letter from mbarara city FC Chief Executive officer Mr Mugaru Fred, It asks FUFA to reschedule mbarara city FC game with URA FC because the dates on the which the match was put, were already booked by other users being that fact that, mbarara city does not own kakyeka stadium, the venue where the game has to be played.
“I hereby write to you to request that our game against URA FC in the super 8 tournament, which was scheduled to be played on Saturday, 27th July 2019 be postponed to Friday, 2nd August 2019,” the letter reads in part.
“As you may be aware, Mbarara district local government has full ownership right of the kakyeka stadium, which mbarara city football club uses as its home ground.
“As such, Mbarara District local government has already cleared Uganda Prisons to use Kakyeka stadium from 24th July 2019 – 25th July 2019, in the same vein,Vision group has also been cleared to use kakyeka stadium for the subsequent days of 26th,27th and 28th July 2019.”
Due to the delayed release of the fixture for the the Super 8 tournament, mbarara city football club could not be granted permission in advance to use the stadium for the days stated above.
“It is on this that we request to have our game against URA rescheduled to Friday 2nd August 2019 at 4pm at kakyeka stadium mbarara”
It should be noted that FUFA had released and confirmed the second edition of pilsner super 8 first round fixture early this week as follows;
