KCCA managed to dispatch Green Eagles in a close semifinal game played at Nyamirambo Stadium.

The reigning Uganda Premier League champions needed extra time to edge a seven goal thriller and reach the 2019 CECAFA Kagame Cup finals.

Allan Okello scored a brace, a goal each from either half, but the latter was an equaliser to send the game in extra time after a 2-2 draw in normal time.

Mike Mutyaba and Sadat Anaku scored one each, and despite a late surge from the Zambian side, Mike Mutebi’s troops held on to the finish line.

KCCA FC, in the finals, will face defending champions Azam FC who beat DR Congo’s AS Maniema 5-4 in penalties after a goalless draw.

This will be KCCA FC’s second CECAFA club championship cup final – They beat Tanzania’s Simba SC in 1978 final.

Okello put KCCA FC in an early lead when he drove forward before firing with his left foot past Sebastien Mwange at the far post.

Amity Shamenda levelled matters in the 37th minute with a rebounding effort and could add the second in the 57th minute after a beautiful buildup before scoring into the roof.

Okello equalised in the 79th minute when he slotted home from a tight angle thanks to Saddam Juma’s donkey work that was highlighted by his through ball.

In the extra time, Okello set Mike Mutyaba free, before the veteran midfielder rifled into the net. Youngster Anaku made it 4-2 from a tight angle at near post to complete his run from the right flank.

Chiola scored late to make it 4-3.
