Coach for Busoga United FC, former Kirinya Jinja SS, Abbey Bogere Kikomeko has set new league target for the club shortly after he was confirmed as the head coach for the coming season.
Bogere, a technical Director then, was made an interim in January this year following the resignation of head coach Charles Ayiekho.
On Tuesday, while speaking to the press, Bogere who will be assisted by Frank Ssebagala who doubles as the head coach, told the press that he is targeting top five slots.

“Its not going to be an easy task, we have many challenges but we hope to do our best,” said Bogere in a briefing. “We were number nine last season, we are now targeting the five slots on the table.”
“We are going to work hard, fight for those slots as the league is not all about talking. You have to work harder.
“The management will be expecting good results and now that its a Busoga affair, it means that we must work hard because we are not playing for the school but for the whole Kingdom.”
The club has not yet made any formal communication on their new signings and rumours have it that midfield maestro David Bagoole might be on his way out of the club.
It should be noted that Kirinya Jinja SS (now Busoga United) earned promotion in May 2016.
This will be their fourth season to compete in top flight. They debuted in 10th place with 33 points in the 2016/17 season and were 5th (43 points) & 9th (41 points) in the 2017/18 and 2018/19 season respectively.
The club also confirmed Hassan Takoowa as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Paul Mukembo as his assistant.
