Buganda: Katikkiro Commissions Football Strategic Implementation Committee

Katikkiro of Buganda Charles Peter Mayiga has launched and given official authority to the new committee that will implement the football strategic plan.

It should be remembered that the four year strategic plan was launched earlier in 2017 at Serena Hotel in Kampala, with Uganda’s vice president Edward Kiwanuka present.

The whole project, which was initially projected to start in 2018-2021, will now start this year for the next four year.

The eight member committee will be chaired by Samuel Mpiima who will be assisted by Hajji Jamil Ssewanyana.

“The only way to succeed in sports is to have a plan,” started the Katikkiro while addressing the committee, Buganda officials and members of the press at Bulange on Wednesday morning.

“But this starts with conceiving the idea before planning. Then implement the plan, monitor and follow-up the designed plan.

“The fifth stage is to evaluate the strength and weakness of the plan and of course you have to find the solution for your weakness.”

He advised the committee to be efficient and professional which is the way to go in football. He also encouraged discipline and devotion towards sports in general.

“The elected must be with ability to put this six phases into practice. We have a lot of hope in you because Sports is now an industry.”

The committee will bw tasked to observe football development in Buganda province which is highlighted by tournaments like Masaza cup, Bika and schools competitions.
