KCCA FC beat reigning Rwanda league champions Rayon Sports 2-1 to reach the 2019 CECAFA Kagame Cup in highly contested affair at Stade Kigali.
With the game tied 1-1, Jackson Nunda scored a free header in the 66th minute off Muzamiru Mutyaba’s lofty delivery before Mike Mutebi’s charges held on till the final whistle.

Mustafa Kizza had given KCCA FC a deserved lead in the 33rd minute with a strong left foot effort off Allan Okello’s assist.
Rayon’s new signing Herve Rugwiri scored with a beautiful freekick to send the whole stadium into eruption.

At semis, KCCA FC will now wait for the winner between Gor Mahia and Green Eagles in Wednesday’s quarter final.
In a game played under intimidating atmosphere from the Rayon fans, Okello missed plenty of opportunities including a keeper to beat in the 54th minute.


The youngster also had a goal disallowed when referee Hagi Hassan called for an offside.
In the other quarter final game, defending champions Azam FC erased DR Congo’s TP Mazembe with a laboured 2-1 win.
