Shafic Kagimu Extends Stay At URA FC

The Uganda revenue authority (URA)football club team captain Shafik Kagimu has committed his future at the club.

The midfielder has signed a contract extension ahead of the coming StarTimes Uganda premier league 2019/20 season.

The skipper has penned down a three- year new contract deal which will keep him at the club up to January 2024.

“Its a real honour to continue representing this amazing club,” said Kagimu. “I want to maintain my stability at the club and also avoid moving from club to as its the best for my career.”

“We had some good football last season and I see the club is moving in right direction so I decided to extend my contract for this long.”

Kagimu who played for Zebra FC, Kampala Junior Team and Water FC before beginning his senior career with URA FC in 2015.

He got nominated for best midfielder award at the UPL Awards for 2016/17, He had a very spectacular phenomenal performance last season which saw his club finishing 3rd on the 16 team log after scoring 7 goals and six assists.

And the most remarkable moment, was his brace he scored against KCCA FC last season which ended kasasiro boys unbeaten strike.

Kagimu is the seventh piece of major business for Sam Ssimbwa in the season transfer market, following the arrivals of Ashraf Mandela, John Ssemazzi, Hassan Kalega, Ssenyonga Richard, Ntege Anwar and Ivan Serubiri.
