Kampala Amateur Volleyball Club (KAVC) is one of the Ugandan teams to represent the country at the Genocide Memorial Tourney.
The 3-days event serves off on Friday till Sunday at the Petit Stadium in Kigali.
Work commitments and studies deterred the club from fielding the women’s side.
A contingent of 10 Players departed by road on Thursday and are expected in Kigali on Friday morning.
KAVC, will be hoping to better their last year’s performance. In the 2018 edition, KAVC didn’t leave the group stage, but that script might change this year.
KAVC finished 6th during the Zone V Club Championship held in the same stadium in February 2019.
The team will use the tournament as a dress rehearsal for the National League which returns next week and the NSSF KAVC International on 2-4 Aug 2019.
Nkumba ladies who won the trophy last year are already in Rwanda to defend their crown.
KCCA and Espoir represent Uganda’s women teams while Nkumba men, Nemostars, KCCA, and Sport-S are the other teams expected to represent Uganda in Rwanda.
