The Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) Ball Games II tournament will be hosted at Teso college Aloet from 6th-14th July 2019.
However, in this edition, the association will also host swimming Gala from 29th- 30th June,2019 at Green hill Academy Kampala.
The two tournaments will provide qualifiers (schools/teams) who will join the other teams that qualified early this year during Fresh dairy secondary school Game(FDSSG) at Mbale secondary school, Mbale and Copa cocacola boys football at Jinja college to make the teams which will constitute the Uganda contingent that will represent the country in East Africa secondary school game in Arusha Tanzania from 15th-25th August 2019.
To hype up the tournament at Teso college, the parliamentary Netball and volleyball teams have been invited to play the curtain raiser games against a team composed of Game teachers, USSSA officials and local community.
A total number of five thousand thirty four participants (5034) from Three hundred sixteen team (316) will be competiting in seven(7) sporting descpline include woodball which has been newly included on this year.
Other disciplines include Netball, football strictly under 16, volleyball, handball, Athletics and woodball.
The road map for this year’s edition is as follows:
*25th-27th June is confirmation of teams by secretariat.
*27th submission of qualified schools by secretariat.
*1st July replacement of team at lugogo.
*2nd July payment of replaced teams at secretariat.
*6th July will be arrival, technical meeting and screening of players, all at Teso college Aloet.
*7th July is the start of the competition then 9th is the official opening ceremony.
*13th July will be the closing ceremony.
It should be noted that other new innovations in this year’s edition apart from woodball and football U16 include,
Drawing and accreditation of all teams done prior to the championship. All payments made to USSSA account, payment for full teams and confirmation of teams by payment.
It should be remembered that last year’s edition of Uganda secondary school sports were held in Arua at Mvara secondary school.
