Men: Kenya 13-16 Uganda
Uganda’s senior men Rugby team, the Rugby Cranes, stunned Kenya in the Elgon Cup with a hard fought and deserved 16-13 win.
Tries from Kobs’ Adrian Kasito and Pius Ogena set the tone. Harlequins half back Aaron Ofoyrowth’s kicks gave Uganda a victory at Momboleo in Kisimu.
However, Uganda had earlier lost in the Women’s game at the sane stadium in a 2PM game.
The teams will face again for the return leg on Saturday, July 13 at Kyadondo Rugby grounds.

Kasito protruded through the host’s back line to land a try as Uganda led 5-0 after Jordan Bongomim failed to convert the resultant try.
Ofoyrwoth made it 8-0 with a drop kick before the half hour mark. He later made it 11-0 from a penalty.

Simba’s Dominic Coulson scored a penalty to make it 11-3 and bring back hope for Kenya. However, it was shirt lived before Santos Senteza landed a try to make it 16-3.
Simbas tried to mount a late challenge, and had their efforts paid off with two unconverted tries to make it 16-13.
