Wakiso Giants recently made it a public secret that they are in quest for a new coach after the newly promoted Uganda Premier league side parted ways with Coach Ibrahim Kirya.
The club’s process to recruit a new manager is ongoing, and it was recently said that foreign based managers have shown their interest for what promises to be an interesting role next season.
Police FC coach Abdullah Mubiru has been the odds favourite to take on the role way back before the Purple Sharks gained automatic promotion.
However, it was earlier reported that the humble Abdullah turned down the offer which put Livingston Mbabazi in limelight to replace Kirya.
It should be noted that Abdullah and Mbabazi were coach and assistant respectively for the National team COSAFA cup in South Africa.
On Monday June 10, Abdullah attended Wakiso Giants’ annual general meeting held at Front Page Hotel in Zzana, a big indicator that the Police tactician may have agreed terms with Wakiso.
However, close sources disputed the claims that the coach will be joining Wakiso, later clarifying that he attended the AGM as a well wisher.
In the AGM, the club approved Financial statements for the season 2018/19, approved a proposed budget (2019/20) and adopted a five year plan.
