In Brief: The event is in line with celebrating the day of the African Child and will see the foundation go to Bukoto Health Centre for a general clean up, distribute Mama Kits to teenage mothers and also carry out a career guidance session, it’s from there that they will go to Mulimira Zone a slum area in Kamwokya to conduct a football clinic.
Gifted striker Brian Umony, under his foundation of the same name, will this Saturday continue with the unselfish effort to bring cheer to others.
The ‘Bukoto Give Back‘ will see the foundation together with sponsors like BetLion and Radio City visit Bukoto Health Centre where they will clean, donate and carry out a career guidance session.
The upcoming CSR activity was launched on Tuesday morning at Betlion offices in Nakawa.
“Bukoto is a breeding ground of a lot of talent,” said Umony who played for Express FC last season. “We have seen many talented kids make it, we believe there is a lot more hence the need to visit and help them make better career choices in life.”
Among the items to be donated include Mama kits, jerseys and soccer balls. Umony will also hold a football clinic that will equip the young kids with required sports knowledge and words of hope to keep them away especially from the negative doings.

“We have looked at community engagements as ways of changing people’s mindsets,” noted BetLion’s General Manager Lionel Kabenge. “I was very sceptical when they (Umony Foundation) approached me, and I will always be there to support.”
“As BetLion, we go beyond sports and am sure that this aspires the young generation to become better.”
Radio City’s Programs Director Kevin Masaba commended the good work of the foundation and also urged everyone to come on board and join the good cause of going out to reach the less privileged.
Umony noted that he will move together with fellow footballers like Savio Kabugo, Ivan Bukenya and Baker Lukoya for the event on Saturday.
Skool info, National Council of Sports, Hillary Tangahya foundation and Mark Mutungi Foundation are some of the other partners on board for the good cause.
