Ugandan Referee To Officiate In AFCON

Uganda’s FIFA Assistant Referee Mark Ssonko has been confirmed among the officials to officiate at the 2019 TOTAL Africa Cup of Nations finals in Egypt.

Ssonko was confirmed by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to be among the 56 officials.

30 of these are assistant referees and the remaining 26 are center referees.

Ssonko joins four other Ugandans who will be on duty during the month long championship.

FUFA President Eng. Moses Magogo will lead the officials from Uganda. By virtue of his position as a CAF Executive Committee member, Eng. Magogo is mandated to attend the Finals.

Others are Edgar Watson- the Chief Executive Officer of FUFA who is among the CAF Study Group members.

Dixon Okello and Leila Nankya are on the security and protocol committees respectively. Andrew Jackson Oryada is a Media officer who will also be in Egypt.

The Total Africa Cup of Nations Egypt 2019 tournament will kick off on 21st June and climax on 19th July.
