KIU Titans 67-59 Ndejje Angels
KIU Titans managed to get their fifth win of the ongoing National Basketball league by beating Ndejje University Angels.
Brian Wathum’s side won 67-59 in a game played at YMCA Court in Wandegeya, Kampala.
It was a tight game right from start but KIU managed to squeeze a two point lead going into the fourth flame. It was in the last phase where KIU scored 21 and limited Ndejje to just 15 to clinch the victory.
Denis Balungu and Michael Bwanga had 17 and 14 points respectively for KIU who shot an ugly 25% on court. The side was rescued by their 24-31 shooting from the free throw line.
Innocent Ochera managed 22 points but the tally couldn’t stop KIU Titans. Gauthier Badhera and Salim Kisilu scored 16 and 11 points respectively for Ndejje.
Walker Obedi’s side matched everything KIU offered on court including the 55 rebounds both teams made but couldn’t hold on to.
Titans have now won six and lost three games. They fell to Betway Power and KIU Titans recently. They face Our Saviour and KCCA men (May 1 and 2).
This was Ndejje’s third loss and will now return to action against Warriors and Power on June 1 and June 5.
