Express FC has confirmed that it will not renew the contracts of seven of their players ahead of the coming 2019/20 season.
The seven players are goalkeeper Mathias Muwanga, veteran Striker Tony Odur, Shafic Kakeeto, Ibrahim Kayiwa, Joel Male, Pius Mbidde and Charles Musoke.
The seven join team captain Isaac Mutanga who was recently released.
The motive behind the club’s actions is not clear per now but it is expected to clear room for new signings that will spur the club forward.
Express FC finished 10th in the league and was ousted out of the Uganda Cup by Bright Stars at Wankulukuku via penalty shootouts.
Muwanga had joined the club from URA FC, Nana came from Tooro United, Kayiwa and Odur joined from Vipers.
Male and Mbidde joined from lower divisions Katwe United and Kitara while Express had acquired Musoke from Nyamityobora FC.
