Roke Telkom Rugby 7s: Betway Kobs’ Aredo Hungry For Silverware

All is set for the 2019 Roke Telkom National Rugby Sevens Series that start this Saturday at Kyadondo Rugby grounds, Kampala.

Betway Kobs captain James Aredo has revealed that his side will be targeting silverware after falling short last season.

Pirates, the sea robbers won in Kyadondo, Jinja and Legends to claim the title despite Kobs winning the last event held at Kyadondo and one in Mbarara.

“We just fell short last season,” said Aredo on Tuesday. ‘We are going to assemble a better team, we may not have new signings but have plenty of new young kids who are eager to impress.”

“We seek to have better attitude towards the sevens and we will prove that on Saturday. We may not be the best prepared team but I do believe that we are good enough to take on any one.

“On behalf of my teammates, we are confident and want to return to winning ways.”

It should be noted that Kobs had won the previous three titles on succession before Buzz Pirates triumphed last year.

Kobs coach Fred Mudoola will depend on Aredo, Adrian Kasito, Justin Kimono among others to sail the side through the short version of Rugby.
