*Proline 1-2 Kyetume FC
(3-3 on aggregate,Proline win 4-3 via penalties)
Proline needed penalty shootouts to eliminate fellow Big league side Kyetume FC in the 2019 Uganda Cup semis.
After winning the first leg 2-1 in Mukono last week, it looked like a done deal for Proline, however, Kyetume put up a strong surge at Lugogo’s turf to level proceedings.
Cephas Kabugu scored from the spot to hand Kyetume FC an halftime lead. Ibrahim Bonyo equalised for the hosts before veteran Patrick Ochan regained the lead for Kyetume.
Proline managed to progress 4-3 after misses from Kyetume’s Vincent Kayizzi and Benon Tahomera. James Begesa failed for Proline but Bright Anukani, Hakim Kiwanuka, Joseph Mandela and Musitafa Mujuzi converted from their efforts at 12 yards.
Shafic Bisaso’s side reach the finals for the first time, which will be staged in Masaka’s Recreation grounds.
Their road to finals has seen Proline eliminate Kyetume, Vipers, Onduparaka, Nyamityobora and Light SS.
In the other semis, Express will seek to reach Uganda Cup finals when they take on Bright Stars – First leg in Mwererwe ended one all.
