JKL came into the game missing two of their best players – Rita Imanishimwe and Jamila ‘Zama’ Nansikombi – who went to Puerto Rico for Gazelles’ FIBA 3X3 World Cup Qualifiers.

It promised to be a fair matchup as two teams had not lost a game prior to the d-day.

JKL limited KIU to only 18 points in the first stanza while putting up 36 at the end before winning 17-16 and 23-20 in the third and fourth quarter respectively to seal a 22 point game.

Feza Ebengo produced her best performance of the season with a double double of 17 points and 11 rebounds. Hope Akello and Jane Asinde collected 13 points respectively.

JKL remain the only unbeaten team in yhe Women division and top of the table. This was the side’s fifth win after previous victories against KCCA, UCU, A1 and Nkumba Lady Marines.

The Rangers on the other hand suffered their first loss. The side, coached by Sudi Ulanga, had beaten up on UMU Ravens, Angels and MUK Sparks.
