The National Basketball League fixture has been slightly altered due to unforeseen circumstances again, by Basketball governing body in the country FUBA.
UCU Lady Canons’ two games this week have been postponed, this website has learnt. The side was initially supposed to face KCCA Leopards and A1 Challenge on Wednesday and Friday respectively.
FUBA’s Vice President Marketing Arnold Katabi has hinted to the SportsNation that the move is intended to aid UCU Lady Canons on merit because they have a coach and Player on the National Women’s 3X3 team travelling to Puerto Rico for the World Cup Qualifiers on Wednesday.
The two tough fixtures would have found UCU without head coach Nicholas Natuhereza and the integral forward Sarah Ageno.

Consequently, the lady Canons will face KCCA Leopards on June 7 and tussle A1 Challenge on May 11.
The slight changes in details, as confirmed by FUBA:
1 – Game # 33 UCU Ladies Vs KCCA Leopards shall switch from Wednesday 1st May to Friday 7th June 1830hrs at YMCA
2 – Game # 44 UCU Ladies Vs A1 Challenge 3rd May shall be interchanged with game # 60 A1 Challenge Vs MUK sparks of 11th May.
Despite Natuhereza doubling as the head coach of UCU’s men team, the UCU Canons, their game with KCCA men on Wednesday has not been altered.
So, the men’s team is expected to have Assistant Emmanuel Kiguyi and manager Lukaire in charge against KCCA Men on Wednesday at YMCA.
It should also be noted that Sarah Ageno had not played both UCU’s two opening fixture this season – against JKL and YMCA lady Hamsters.
The arrangement therefore sees UCU lady canons play three games in a row: Return to league action on May 10 against Brenda Ekone’s Nkumba Lady Marines, face A1 and KIU Rangers on May 11 and 12th in that order.
