Coming off their opening loss against City Oilers last Friday, Betway Power will go all out to bounce back when they take on KIU Titans in a league game at YMCA.
In the loss against Oilers, Power squandered a 17-9 first quarter lead but even a late surge was not enough as the side succumbed to a three point game, 66-69.
Against KIU, Power will face the league’s best shooting team and it’s yet known if coach Arnold Lando has already found a solution on how to stop a trio of Sudi Ulanga, Denis Balungu and Michael Bwanga.
The trio flipped the switch as KIU battered Kampala University to win 106-75, but their only concern was at the rate which they allowed easy baskets, a concern which Centre Oscar Muge and his coach Brian Wathum must address.
Despite being the away team in the fixture arrangement, Power take YMCA as a home court and will therefore seek to capitalise on the advantage to return to winning ways.
Power will also bank on recent head to head record against the Titans. The five time champions have beaten up on KIU both in the first and second round, for the last two seasons.
Lando will rely on Geoffrey Soro, Syrus Kiviiri, Philip Ameny, Fahmh Ssebatindira, Paul Odong among others. Francis Kasinde who crossed to KIU Titans might have a point to prove against his former team though.
