SC Villa will play fellow relegation battlers Ndejje University in a league game at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.

In what has been dubbed as a ‘six pointer’, Villa will need to avoid defeat for starters to at least keep their three point gap adrift of relegation intact. However, a win will be a sigh of relief for Douglas Bamweyana’s side.

Villa have 27 points, three above Ndejje who sit right at the top of the red zone with just four games to go.

Ahead of the big game, news from the Villa camp have it that Goalkeeper Saidi Keni and Striker Bashir Mutanda are back after missing the draw with Express FC.

Keni missed because of joint pain while Mutanda was sidelined due to abdominal pain.

Mutanda scored at the hour mark as Villa picked a point in Ndejje in a one all draw affair, after Robert Odokonyero had given the hosts a lead inside the first stanza.

Mutanda is the club’s top scorer with 13 league goals and his return will be a major boost for the hosts and record league winners.

Speaking ahead of the game, Villa coach Douglas Bamweyana said that his club has had enough preparations and will have no excuse if they don’t pick maximum points.

He added:

“It us a very special moment at Villa, it’s a tricky situation we find ourselves into nearing the end of the season. But I assure our fans that we are going to do everything in our own means to win, we have every intention to win Ndejje.

“We know our opponents very well, we have seen how they play both home and away. So we will use our home advantage to try and beat them.”

Ndejje are unbeaten in their last four league games since losing 3-0 against Bright Stars.
