Mbarara City Vs Vipers SC, 4:30 PM
(Kakyeka Stadium, Mbarara)
Industrious Centre back Livingston Mulondo has been named in 19 man Vipers squad to face Mbarara on Wednesday.
Mulondo who joined the Kitende based team from Kirinya Jinja SS, has been out for about two months. The defender was the first choice for the club before he visited the sick bay.
His return is a big boost for Coach Nam Ouma and the player is expected to start in the heart of defence with Henry Katongole who started against KCCA. Abdul Karim Niyizigimana, Ibrahim Tembo and Halid Lwaliwa are reportedly injured while Yayo Lutimba is suspended due to yellow card accumulation.
Goalkeeper Bashir Ssekagya and Geofrey Wasswa remain unavailable due to long term injuries, unfortunately while Tito Okello and Bashir Asiku still serving a club suspension due to indiscipline cases.
Moses Waiswa and Ibrahim Tembo are not part of team that left for the Ankole land. Attackers Mzee Dan Sserunkuma and Joseph Janjali who were unused subs against KCCA FC travelled with the team.
Vipers Target Maximum Points
After drawing one all against title rivals KCCA, Vipers remain second on the 16 team log with 49 points – Four below KCCA.
The visitors will be in search for three points to keep their title surge on course. However, against Mbarara, they face a tricky team that is fourth on the log.
This will be the fourth meeting between these two forces in the league. Vipers won both ties home and away last season. The reverse fixture this season ended one all, with Mbarara equalising through Paul Mucureezi after Sserunkuma had put Vipers in the lead at Kitende.
Mbarara have gone three league games without wining – Two back to back goalless draws against Express and Ndejje before falling 2-1 in a controversial loss against SC Villa under floodlights.
