UPL: Onduparaka Suffer Second Loss In Arua

Friday, April 5
Onduparaka 0-1 Tooro
Ndejje 1-1 BUL
Nyamityobora 1-1 URA

Onduparaka FC suffered their second 2018/19 Uganda Premier league home loss following a 1-0 defeat to Tooro United.

Nicholas Ssebwato, the only change in Onduparaka’s lineup that beat SC Villa (replacing Becker Yunus), failed to keep out Godfrey Lwesibawa’s freekick in the 65th minute for the goal that proved to be the difference at Greenlight Stadium.

Hassan Mohammed could have levelled matters later on but had his header cleared off the line, Viane Ssekajugo and Caesar Okhuti had missed opportunities earlier before the visitors took the lead.

The Caterpillars tried to fight back at least for a point but even the introduction of Amis Muwonge, Malish Jamal and Solomon Okwalinga failed to save the club from suffering their second home loss.

Action in Arua. Onduparaka

Only KCCA FC had picked maximum points in Arua this season when facing Onduparaka, winning 2-0 in October last year. The club’s last six losses had come on the road against Nyamityobora, KCCA, Vipers, URA, BUL and Maroons.

The visitors whose only chance in the first stanza fell to Allan Kayiwa, remain unbeaten in their last five league games, keeping four clean sheets in the process.

Tooro leapfrog Onduparaka to fifth with 39 points, while Onduparaka slip to seventh with 37 points, level with BUL but the Jinja based side have a slight superior goal difference.

BUL needed Richard Wandyaka’s penalty to snatch a point off Ndejje who had taken an early lead via Ntege Anwar in Luwero.

Joseph Akandahwo goal canceled out Rwothomio Cromwell’s goal as Nyamityobora denied URA FC at Kakyeka Stadium in Mbarara.
