UPL: No Ashraf Mandela As Villa Target Mbarara Scalp

SC Villa will be without captain Ashraf Mandela when they take on Mbarara City in the Uganda Premier League.

The midfiled who joined Villa from rivals Vipers will miss out due to Yellow card accumulations.

Lincoln Mukisa got a knock on his joint on Monday and will not feature, the club has confirmed.

The good news from Villa park have it that Habib Kavuma, Adriko John and Goal Keeper Kivumbi Samuel have all recovered and ready for selection.

This will be the second night game of the season – Kirinya beat Villa at Namboole in the other night fixture.

Speaking ahead of the night game, Villa Coach Douglas Bamweyana said:

“We have had a terrible patch in results but our performance don’t reflect those results, we have had many errors which are not expected of our players and that explains that terrible patch.

“Our biggest challenge has been conceding, because we have managed to score in our last eight games, we have given away very cheap goals but we are now ready, the night game is just about the time and the effects impacts both teams.”

Mbarara on the other hand will be without captain Asuman Alishe but Paul Mucureezi has recovered from a knock he received against Ndejje last time out.

Mbarara who won the reverse fixture 2-1, are fourth on the log with 41 points. Villa on the other hand are 13th with 23 points, a place above the drop zone.
