FUFA Drum: Lango Will Bounce Back Stronger – Obua

Former Uganda Cranes winger David Obua, now turned coach, says that his side Lango Province will come back stronger after a poor start to the 2019 FUFA Drum.

Lango suffered a 1-0 defeat to defending champions Buganda Province in the opening game of the second edition of the football province competition on Saturday at Bishop SS in Mukono.

Viane Ssekajugo scored the lone goal, but Lango who put up a strong second half performance was denied by Joel Mutakubya before he was named the man of the match.

Obua, speaking to the press after a closely contested and well attended fixture, noted that much still needs to be done, and added that his side will be able to come back strong in the next games.

“My boys put up a good game, we created many chances,” said the Cranes legend.

“We only trained for four days, but a lot is still missing and I want to train these boys to play football, not just kicking it.

“The have to understand my ideologies well. We are going to attack more at home and expect the best reception back in Lango.”

Last year, Lango failed to get out of Group B – finished third with eight (8) points below leaders Acholi (11) and Buganda (10). Kigezi were rooted at the rock bottom with just four points.

Next for Lango will be a home game against Ankole before facing Sebei in an epic clash.
