Uganda’s junior 3×3 Basketball teams, both boys and girls, have on early Monday morning set off to Rwanda.
The team will take part in the first edition of the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa (ANOCA).
The inaugural regional showpiece, organized by the Rwanda’s Olympic Committee (RNOSC), is scheduled for April 2-6 in Huye district.
The basketball contingent has four boys and as many girls with one official, Hamza Nyambogo.
The teams had held training for some days at Nakasero court under the guidance of Coaches Nicholas Natuhereza and Ali Mavita.

Nyambogo, on the importance of the ANOCA games to our Basketball side, explained to SportsNation:
“These events raise the level of players and our ranking at individual and national level.
“Also it’s key to have these different age categories competing because it compliments our competition structure to give much needed exposure to our players.”
The multidisciplinary event, designed for athletes aged below 18, will also see participation in Athletics, Cycling, Taekwondo and beach volleyball.
Group Scolaire Officiel de Butare (GSOB) will host the basketball event.
