It is now official, Uganda Premier League team Tooro United have left Buhinga Stadium (Fort Portal, Kabalore) due to unavoidable circumstances.
“It’s unfortunate to announce that we shall play the rest of our season away from Buhinga Stadium,” reads an excerpt from an official document from Tooro United, as seen by this website.
“This announcement comes as a result of the kickoff of the big construction project aimed at upgrading Buhinga into a modern Sports facility to enhance football development.”
The club confirmed that they will host the remainder of their home games at Wankulukuku – Betway Muteesa II Stadium.
The club also hinted that they will continue to search for another ground in Fort Portal which they will use next season.
“To our dear fans, we shall always be thankful for your overwhelming support to us. Buhinga is our home and shall always be.
“We look forward to move with you as we try to identify a suitable place in the area for next season.”
Tooro had made Buhinga a fortress, played 11 league games without any loss, winning seven and drawing four times.
The club will host BUL FC on Tuesday, March 26 at Wankulukuku.
Tooro occupy seventh place on the log with 33 points after 23 games. The club has won eight league games, drawn nine and lost six.
